On the morning of December 21st 2015 Vanessa Gray, a young woman from Aamjiwnaang First Nation, with the support of Stone Stewart and Sarah Scanlon, shut down Enbridge’s Line 9 on Anishnaabe Territory just outside of Aamjiwnaang and Sarnia.
Latest update on the court case against Line 9
Enbridge’s Line 9 is a 40 year old pipeline that is almost identical in build and age to the Line 6B pipeline that ruptured into the Kalamazoo River in Michigan. Line 9 began to carry diluted bitumen from Alberta’s Tar Sands in December 2015.
